Counseling is available for young children through the Nova Center’s preschool and school-based services.
Preschool services are available at the Nova Academy, located at the Nova Center for Youth & Family at 1900 Golf Road in Huntsville (35802). The Academy is available to children ages 3-5 who have significant behavioral challenges that interfere with their ability to be successful at traditional preschool or daycare settings. The Academy is a half-day therapeutic preschool program with teachers, assistants, and mental health professionals who work with children and their families to prepare the child for kindergarten.
School-Based services are available at over 40 schools in all three local school districts. The Nova Center for Youth & Family provides mental health professionals at local schools to work collaboratively with school principals, counselors, and teachers in providing behavioral health services to children and their families. School-based services are available in an individual setting at the child’s school and are focused on helping the child succeed academically, in the family, and with peers.
